Olivia Calhoun Palmer, D.M.D.

Dr. Olivia Palmer was born and raised in Charleston. She has been in the private practice of general, aesthetic, and implant dentistry for over 28 years. She graduated high school from Ashley Hall School for Girls, then the College of Charleston, Cum Laude. She received her DMD degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1982.

Dr. Palmer’s post graduate education includes anesthesia and conscious sedation at MUSC and the Medical College of Georgia. In addition, she graduated from the Medical College of Georgia’s maxi-course in Implant Dentistry, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She is the only local dentist board certified by the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry and is one of only four Diplomates of the American Board of Oral Implantology in the state of South Carolina.

Dr. Palmer’s extensive post graduate training and certification qualify her to treat the majority of her patient’s dental needs. Dr. Palmer also has extensive experience in treating infants born with cleft lip and palate; she has volunteered at the Carolina Cleft Lip and Palate Center since 1982.

Dr. Palmer opened Atlantic Implant Dentistry in historic downtown Charleston in 1982, and today has a new, state-of-the-art dental facility West of the Ashley.
